What an interesting park. sand blown up against the mountains for thousands of years. We could not resist a hike up the dunes to High Dune. Jim and David made it to the top. Sherry and I did not. we made it up 1.9 miles and then turned back. Hiking UP on soft sand is very hard. We were also surprised to see beautiful flowers. Here is a Colorado Bee Flower.
We also went to a State Park, Zapada Falls. Here we hiked UP into a slot canyon to be rewarded with a great waterfall. We hike throught the water to get up to see it.
