Dorr, Mi

We don't know where it is either, but they are doing some road work here. This is the view of our RV trying to pass the road construction. We thought we needed 4 wheel drive on the RV. Made it and even got to see a hot air balloon launch from the field here.

Petoskey,Mi

Went for a road trip to Cross Village because someone told us about the Tunnel of Trees road and the Leggs Inn, a polish restaurant. So we had some beer, sampler of food and fish spread and then back to Petoskey to look for Petoskey stones, dinner and another day. It is very windy here and Lake Michigan is very rough.

Leave tomorrow on way to Pennsylvania to see a cousin.

Mackinac Island

We are staying at Mackinaw Mills Campground and the view out our front window is of Lake Huron and the Bridge. We went to the Island yesterday and hiked everywhere. We also took the Carriage ride around the Island. We of course had to buy the Fudge. It still boggles my mind that that many stores can sell that much Fudge. Maybe they have something that the rest of the country could use.

Today the guys are golfing and the women are off to the Spa for a massage!

Tahquamenon Falls

What a neat campground, nestled in the woods. Yesterday we visited Whitefish Point and the Upper Falls. Today the guys are fishing. Tomorrow we are hiking the 4 miles from Upper to Lower falls.

Munising, Mi

We arrived with a big tailwind. Boy are we glad we were not on the boat today! Staying at the Munising CountyTourist Park $20.00 night and right on Lake Superior. Sent Dave and Sherry on the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour and we hiked to Miner's Rock so we could photograph them as the boat came along the shore. Then we went on another hike in the PM to Mosquito Beach and took some photos. Another beautiful place.

Isle Royale

Wow! Words really can't describe Isle Royale National Park. It is 53 miles across Lake Superior and is a an Island close to Thunder Bay, Canada. The boat from Copper Harbor takes 3-4 hours and thanks to Bonine, no nausea. Hiked the Scoville Trail when we got there and saw 2 Moose. Well actually the moose walked out in front of us and since I was leading, scared me to no end. She stayed around and ate in the thicket, so no good photos. We also took the Sandy a boat that toured us around the Island and met and talked with Rolf Peterson and his wife Carolyn who have done the the reasearch on the Island on wolves and moose for 40 years.

The picture is from a hike to Lookout Louise and the view is towards Canada.

Leak from Where?

Last night we were quietly getting ready to relax before bed and I discovered that the floor was wet. Not damp, not puddling but wet. Then the search is on....soon everything under the dinette is out, below refrigerator same and even Jim's drawers. Fans from friends and our own ran all night and the AC was turned down low. Never found the source and it hasn"t reoccured in the last day! Never the less we are waiting for it to happen again.

We all know what they say about RV's they all have a leak, you just haven't found it yet!

Now we have to find out where it leaks from!!!!!

Visiting Fraternity Brothers

After leaving Branson, we visited in Cuba, Mo with one of the guys Fraternity brothers. Spent 4th of July there lots of good fun, fireworks, and food. They have a nice cottage on the lake and we enjoyed being on the water there.

Then we moved further north to another Fraternity brother at his home in Lake Sara in Effingham, Il. More food, lake activities like Kayaking, swimming and the trip around the lake on the pontoon boat.

2010 Trip

This year we started off June 15 with the boys. This year we are going to Mammoth Caves since the car prevented us from going there last year.

Of course this year the weather is HOT 104 at 9am in the shade!

We were able to hike some in the park and we took the boys on the Starlight Lantern Tour. What an amazing place, some of the cave was used as a hospital for tuberculosis patients and other parts have permanent memorials to families that passed through. We also visited the Kentucky Down Under attraction. The boys were able to pet Kangaroos there.

We also visited the Incline railway and Civil War battlefields. Then we transfered the kids back to their mom at Table Rock Lake and moved on .

At Home

Bet you are wondering what we have been up to....Well the answer is a lot, Lynne had arthroscopic knee surgery in December, Holiday's brought company. Tub that rusted had to be torn out and replaced. The Dock project finally came to a finish and the Condo is being painted. The kids are done with Soccer and are in Basketball, the older two are busy in school and whatever else teenage girls do when not in school or working.

Jim and I are well and now are thinking about this years trip which will start in June. But first another knee surgery for the other knee and then hopefully all is done. We snuck in a Kayak trip to the Crystal River to see the manatees, and might get to use the kayak's at home with the dock done.

We did manage a couple of short RV trips. Jim and the boys did their weekend, and we did a couple of FMCA trips.
